About
No real person ever wishes an idea was less fun.
If you're here, that means you'd like to know more about me. I could tell you that I'm excited to be a father soon. I could tell you about my pets or my love for Cormac McCarthy and George Saunders. If I thought you would handle them well, I could tell you stories from my years of touring in a hardcore band.
Here's what you actually need to know. I believe advertising is an art form and that the current metrics we use to measure it barely scratch the surface of what it can do. Great advertising doesn't mimic culture. It creates and responds to culture viscerally. That's why MTV was youth culture. That's why everyone can still quote Will Ferrell movies nearly 20 years after they were released. That's why "Dilly dilly" worked, even though it didn't mean anything.
I see beautiful tech-enabled marketing tactics constantly—and most boil down to a fancy photo opportunity. When you look at my site, I hope you think, "This guy is having fun."
I am. The world needs more of it.
